St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP) in CPL

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is the first amongst the expansion teams in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), as it came into existence only in the third season of the T20 league. The franchise is funded by St Kitts and Nevis government and the local business community. Their start to the tournament was not that great as the team finished last in their first two seasons but then made significant improvement in the subsequent year by playing the final. Since then, they have had decent seasons and by the looks of it, they are going for the kill this time in the CPL 2020 season.

SWOT Analysis for SKNP Team 2020

With the SWOT analysis, it will become easier to understand the team standings in CPL 2020. Players looking to play CPL fantasy 2020 must check these stats and build their team accordingly.

Strengths of SKNP

On paper, there is hardly a better and well-settled team than the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in CPL 2020, as it has the perfect mix of batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders. Furthermore, the power-packed opening pair of Evin Lewis and Chris Lynn can dismantle any bowling unit on their day, which should give the team enough confidence for good starts every time they step on to the pitch.

Weaknesses of SKNP

The non-availability of Rassie van der Dussen due to the Coronavirus lockdown in South Africa has disrupted the balance of the batting order of the squad. As a result, the middle order looks slightly fragile and vulnerable, especially during an event of testing conditions both physically and psychologically. Furthermore, the lack of a quality spin bowler to partner Ish Sodhi can prove costly during the middle overs.

Opportunities for SKNP

With probably the most balanced side in the tournament, this is a great opportunity for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to finally go all the way this time around. Furthermore, it is also a great opportunity for the captain of the team, Rayad Emrit, to end his career on a high note, as this might very well be the last tournament for the 39-year old.

Threats for SKNP

Just like many other teams in the past, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in CPL too can have a season where they looked the most promising side but ended up underperforming heavily. To avoid this, they will have to take one game at a time and not be overconfident about the strength of their squad.
